How the request page works

What singers see on their phones, and what lands in your approval dock.

The request page is your show as a singer sees it. It opens when you open the show, it closes when you close it, and it needs nothing installed on anyone's phone.

The FireballKaraoke request page on a phone: a search box, a list of matching karaoke tracks with artist and title, and the singer's own spot in the rotation at the top. A singer scans, types a name, and searches. That is the whole sign-up.

Joining

A name, and nothing else. No account, no password, no email. The name is checked as they type, so a name that will not fly is refused before they get attached to it, and a name that has sung with you before offers them a "is that you?" card so their history follows them.

A returning name they claim stays unverified until you approve their first song. That is deliberate: it stops someone borrowing a regular's name and inheriting their history.

Searching

Search covers the karaoke tracks in tonight's catalogue, matching on title and artist. If you use album filters, those become the quick pills across the top, so a room that thinks in disc series can browse the way they think.

Requesting

Tapping a song stages it and opens a confirm card with the key change select, so a key change is a deliberate choice rather than a thing that happens by accident. They send, and it arrives with you.

Two pending requests per singer is the limit. They can cancel their own pending requests and drop songs out of their own queue without bothering you.

Their spot

Once they are in the rotation, the page shows where they are, roughly how long the wait is, what is playing now, and what they have queued. There is a rotation drawer if they want to see the room, showing as much of the list as you have chosen to share.

What you see

Requests land in the approval dock in the plugin and on the host remote. Approve and they join the rotation exactly as if you had typed them in.

Things you control

Freeze requests when you need a breather. Turn wishes on or off, wishes being what a singer sends when the song is not in your library. Set how much of the rotation the drawer shows. All of it is live: change it and the phones in the room follow.
