About us

Built by someone who runs the show

FireballKaraoke exists because hosting karaoke well is harder than the software available for it made out.

I am Mike, and I have loved karaoke for a very long time, whether I am behind the rig running it or out front performing. Every feature in FireballKaraoke started as a problem in a real room: a rotation that got out of order, a regular whose key I could never remember, a singer at the far end of the bar waving a paper slip, a laptop that died on a Saturday night with a whole show on it.

The plugin came first, because a show has to work whether or not anything else does. It runs inside VirtualDJ, on your machine, with no account and no connection. That is not a limitation we are working around. It is the whole design: your night does not depend on our servers, our uptime, or your venue's Wi-Fi.

FireballKaraoke.com came second, for the parts that genuinely need a network: requests from phones, a remote in your pocket, singers who want their history to follow them, and backups that live somewhere other than the laptop in the bar.

Built in the room

Written by a working KJ and tested on live shows before anything ships.

Offline first, always

The plugin is free forever and never needs us. The cloud is the optional half.

Your library stays yours

No file paths, no music, no tracking. What we hold is listed in the privacy policy.

Who you are dealing with

FireballKaraoke is a service of OIS Technologies, a Maryland company. It is small on purpose: when you write to support, you are writing to the people who build it, and you get an answer from a person who has actually run a show.
