FireballKaraoke is a VirtualDJ plugin. You install it once, and it runs your rotation, your singers, and your audience screen from inside VirtualDJ.
What you need
A Mac with Apple Silicon (any M-series chip) and a recent VirtualDJ. The download is a universal build, so it runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, but Apple Silicon is what we test on and what we support today. Windows is not ready yet: there is a waitlist on the plugin page and everyone on it hears the day it ships.
You also need a karaoke library VirtualDJ can already see. FireballKaraoke reads the library you have; it does not import or move your files.
Where the files go
The download contains three bundles. FireballKaraoke is the main plugin, FireballOverlay draws the audience screen inside VirtualDJ's video output, and FireballSound plays your sound board straight to the master output.
Apple Silicon VirtualDJ loads plugins from a different folder than Intel VirtualDJ does, and the two folders live side by side. Install into both and you never have to think about it again. Sound plugins go in the SoundEffect folder, the overlay goes in the VideoEffect folder, under your VirtualDJ home folder.
First launch
Start VirtualDJ. Open the effects panel, find FireballKaraoke in the sound effects list, and open its settings. The FireballKaraoke window appears, and that window is the whole plugin: rotation, singers, search, settings, and the audience controls.
Nothing here needs an account or a connection. Everything the plugin does on its own, it does offline, forever.
